My family is notorious for doing a lot together. Last weekend, but father bought us all tickets (yes, all of us) to the Demolition Derby at the fair. It was such a blast. My kids were thrilled. The Wild One didn't like the noise, not even one bit. He kept clapping my hands over his ears. The Funny One was jumping up and down on the seats, whopping and holering. It made me smile. We typically love the fair and the animals. We saw some type of pidgeon with extremely feathered feet. It could hardly walk for the feathers. It was lovely. Unfortunately, many of the animals had been taken home by their owners. Still, it was such a blast to check out the pigs, lambs, cows, and miniature horses. I want that life for my kids. I am anxiously awaiting the day that the Steady One gets a permanent job and we can move to the country. The only bad thing was the insane number of people crammed in that little space. And 94% of them were drinking beer. Out of plastic cups. Without lids. Sigh. Then they wanted to hold my baby. Not happening, folks. Spilt beer and babies don't mix. We had an amazing time, regardless. It is such a blessing for my kids to have so many people who love them that are so close. We are literally less than hours away from most of our dearest people. How lucky are those kids? I barely knew my aunts and uncles and grandparents. My kids, though...., are intimately acquainted with every single one. Family is such a bonus.
